About SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka is a small island, located in the Indian Ocean, which may be truly called an absolutely exotic country. It is an ancient country with a rich history and unshakeable traditions; it is the world center of Buddhism, which has lots of incredibly beautiful monuments, dedicated to this religion.
The beauty of the local landscapes is able to impress even the most experienced travelers. Especially gorgeous looking are the local tea plantations that are considered the pride of the country and that are the reason of the world-wide spread popularity of Sri Lanka. Besides that, the country is famous for its local spices, exotic fruits, semiprecious stones and, of course, the hospitality of the local inhabitants.
As Sri Lanka represents the island, surrounded by the sea, it s a perfect place for all the lovers of calm resting on the beach. The special thing about the island is that when there is a storm on one side of the island, there s an absolutely calm atmosphere on the other side of it that is why the beach vacation is available here all year long.
Even though, the island is rather small, there is an incredible number of different animal species, dwelling on it, including numerous birds, mammals, fish, butterflies and snakes. The main local sightseeings represented by animals include the elephants, bears, leopards and whales.
