About Pokhara

Pokhara nowadays represents the city in the central Nepal, which is situated in about 200 kilometers away from another popular local tourist destination, the city of Kathmandu (in about 7-8 hours away if traveling by car). This second most popular city of the country annually attracts thousands and thousands of foreign traelers from all over the world with its picturesque landscapes, unusual and stunning views and absolutely amazing mountain chains that are surrounding the city from all of the sides. The city is situated near the large gorgeous lake and is the exact place, where the major part of the popular local trekking routes starts.
The large and noisy Seti Gandaki River crosses the whole city of Pokhara, which provides travelers with a very picturesque views that open up from the ancient bridges. Besides that, one of the most popular local nature sightseeings, represented by the Devi s Fall or as the local citizens sometimes call it, Patale Chhango ( or the Hell s Fall), is situated in only about two kilometers away from the local airport of Pokhara and which is totally worth visiting. Mahendra Gupha is considered another popular tourist route, represented by the large ancient cave, whose name may be literally translated as the House of Bats and which is situated in only about two kilometers away from Pokhara (don t forget to take a light, if you decide to visit it - it is absolutely dark in there).
