Hot Travel Season in the Tropics

Air Jamaica increases number of summer flights between the Caribbean region and Northern America

Air Jamaica has recently announced its plans prior to the summer season.

Summer Service Between Orlando and Jamaica
Effective June 29, 2009, Air Jamaica will offer seven weekly flights between Orlando and Jamaica. The addition of two new flights will give passengers direct service to Kingston after a stop in Montego Bay.

"Our new flights will arrive in Jamaica in the morning, allowing even more time to enjoy the destination," said Tom Hill, Chief Revenue Officer. "We are anticipating a busy summer season, and with seven weekly flights, our passengers will find it more convenient to arrange that perfect vacation in Jamaica."

Summer Service From New York To Jamaica
Effective June 25, 2009, Air Jamaica will introduce the "Nitebird" flight on its New York route, thereby increasing the total number of daily flights to four during the busy summer travel season. The "Nitebird" will operate between New York's John F. Kennedy airport and Kingston, departing New York at 2:15 a.m. and arriving in Kingston at 5:00 a.m. The return flight will depart Kingston at 12:15 a.m. and arrive in New York at 5:00 a.m.

"We are pleased with the recent load factor on our New York route and have added another daily flight for the summer period to meet increasing demand," said Tom Hill, Chief Revenue Officer. "New York continues to be one of our core routes, and as we further strengthen our position in this market with four daily flights, our passengers are able to choose the most convenient flight schedule for their individual travel needs."

Daily Flights From Fort Lauderdale To Jamaica
Effective June 25, 2009, Air Jamaica will operate five daily flights between Fort Lauderdale and Jamaica in anticipation of the busy summer travel season.

"This additional daily flight from Fort Lauderdale is in response to passenger demands from the South Florida area," said Tom Hill, Chief Revenue Officer. "We have enjoyed a substantial increase in our load factor on this route since our new schedule was introduced at the end of February, and we aim to continue providing the best schedule for our passengers."

Air Jamaica has now established Fort Lauderdale as South Florida's gateway to Jamaica, and a more convenient airport for Jamaican Diaspora centrally located between Miami and West Palm Beach. Furthermore, the added flight option allows passengers to have the flexibility of early morning departures from South Florida and evening departures from Jamaica.

In whole, Air Jamaica's new summer schedule has 246 weekly flights to 12 destinations, with service between Jamaica and Toronto, New York (JFK), Chicago (O'Hare), Baltimore, Philadelphia, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Curacao and Nassau, as well as service between New York and Grenada.
