New Nonstop Service From Atlanta to Portland and Harrisburg

AirTran Airways continues trend of expanding routes in existing markets

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., today launched nonstop seasonal service between Atlanta, Ga., and the following destinations: Portland, Maine, and Harrisburg, Pa. The airline will operate one daily nonstop flight from Atlanta to Harrisburg through September 8, and one daily flight from Atlanta to Portland through November 3.

The expanding low-fare carrier will offer service between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, Ga., and both Portland International Jetport Airport and Harrisburg International Airport. With these nonstop flights to Atlanta, residents of Portland and Harrisburg will be able to connect to more than 40 destinations nationwide.

"AirTran Airways is pleased to add additional nonstop destinations to our existing service in Portland and Harrisburg," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. "Our goal is to make traveling more convenient for our customers with great features like Business Class seating on every flight and the newly installed Gogo(R) Inflight Internet service, and providing access to our entire network of cities through Atlanta reinforces our commitment to Portland and Harrisburg residents."

The nonstop flights between Atlanta and Portland, Maine, and between Atlanta and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania will be available beginning June 11, 2009.
