Cheap Air Jamaica Flights (JM)

Air Jamaica is the current national airline of Jamaica. It was established in October 1968 and started operations on April 1, 1969. Air Jamaica has expanded continuously over the years, and opened many destinations with cheap flights to Toronto, Montreal, Philadelphia and Atlanta that connected the center of America with United States of America, Canada and Europe.

In 1994, the company was partially privatized, with the government retaining 25% of the company and giving 5% of it to the airline's employees. At that time, Air Jamaica began a feeder service named “the 7th Heaven” and an inflight magazine, named Sky Writings.

Although Air Jamaica is the primary Jamaican airline and even if it caters to about 2 million travelers a year with its fleet of eleven aircrafts, the company offers a range of cheap flights to 19 different destinations, including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Miami and London and provides low-cost tickets with the best airline deals.

Air Jamaica’s complete privatization was extended from March 2009 to June 2009. On May 27, 2011, Jamaican Finance Minister Audley Shaw and Trinidadian Finance Minister Winston Dookeran signed a shareholding agreement, making Caribbean Airlines the national airline of Jamaica and access of all routes operated by the former Air Jamaica. On July 1, 2011, all Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airline's flights began operating under Caribbean Airlines Limited. However, the current owners intend to keep the name "Air Jamaica" in use as long as they are in possession of the company. Since 2011, the company’s motto is: “We’re now one airline with two brands with one mission, and we still have the service you’ve come to love”.

The main hubs of the company are Norman Manley International Airport, located in Kingston, Sangster International Airport from Montego Bay and Hewanorra International Airport, situated at Vieux Fort, Santa Lucia Island. It became somehow, a policy of the company to ensure its clients with the lowest prices and cheap tickets from different parts of the island.

Due to the best prices, Air Jamaica is the most preferred airline to the Caribbean. It has one of the most technologically advanced fleets in the world. Nevertheless, Air Jamaica offers low-cost tickets for international and domestic flights.
