About Tashkent

Tashkent nowadays is considered one of the most popular travel destinations in Uzbekistan, but nevertheless it may not be called the best travel choice for those travelers that are longing to see the real East . Modern Tashkent nowadays represents the typical soviet megapolis, where only few districts have left from the ancient Old City, as the city was almost completely destroyed back in 1966 by the strongest earthquake.
Anyway, Tashkent represents the typical Eastern city with lots of noisy and vivid markets with the most varied colorful species, food and hand-made goods, narrow cozy streets and traditional restaurants with the national local cuisine. Besides that, Tashkent offers all of its guests a very large variety of museums, telling their visitors about the rich and long history of the city and country in general, the local customs and traditions of the local population, different popular events of the country, its art, nature and even local flora and fauna. There are also some cultural and educational buildings in Tashkent, like for example, numerous theaters or Opera building with the gorgeous square just in front of it.
