San Diego, which appeared around the Catholic Mission, was in a “shadow” of Los Angeles for a long time, but the World War II drove the impulse for its development, as US Navy had located their main base here. Now San Diego is one of the most developed and “Finest City” in America.
During this tour you will have the opportunity to see the most beautiful places of this wonderful city, learn about its history and modern life, and visit one of the best zoos in the world!
Tour program:
During the tour we will see the most significant places of the city: bright and exciting downtown of San Diego, Coronado Island with famous «Del Coronado» hotel, where “Some Like It Hot” was filmed, and Old Town. It is a historical heart of the city, which recreates the atmosphere of the first Spanish and Mexican settlements. At 1850 the population of San Diego was 650 people. Wild West, which all of us has seen in westerns, was exactly here. This place looks like a scenery for the movie, with a single difference that all of it is absolutely real: the Mexican mansions and old prison, the first school and shops that sell different interesting and unusual souvenirs.
From the City Center you will go to the famous Zoo, which is home for more than 4,000 exotic animals representing 800 species, including giant pandas from China, chimpanzees from Central Africa, the Komodo dragon in Indonesia, koalas from Australia, rhinos from Asia and much more.
