About Almeria

Almeria nowadays is considered a rather popular Spanish resort, located in the South-West of the country. The city of Almeria is considered the main city of the coastal province of the same name (Costa del Almeria) and even though it is a rather young resort, it is developing quite fast and is getting more and more popular among the foreign travelers with every year. Large sandy beaches, pleasant climate, picturesque nature, nice weather, well developed tourist infrastructure and unique history of the region are considered the main reasons that attract so many travelers to this Spanish city every year.
The nature of Almeria admires travelers with its absolutely unique contrasts, as it contains gorgeous sandy beaches, high rocks and cliffs, towering above the sea waters, thick green forests, stony deserts and even dried rivers, which make the local nature look quite wild and unusual for the citizens.
One of the main sightseeings of the city is represented by the ancient Cathedral, which nowadays is standing on the place of the old mosque. Many many years ago it was called Catedral-Fortaleza , as it used to be a shelter for the citizens during the numerous raids on the city.
The main things that everyone should definitely include in their must-do list, while staying in Almeria are: feeling the atmosphere of the Wild West , forgetting that you are traveling around Spain, trying to see all of the local architectural sightseeings, find the most comfortable beach and have fun in the local aqua park, which by the way is quite popular among the foreign visitors.
