About Gelendzhik

The city of Gelendzhik nowadays represents one of the oldest sea resorts of Russia, situated on the coast of the Black Sea. The very first people had settled down on this area more than five thousands years ago and since than it has enlarged and developed quite a lot. The first local resort was built on the territory of Gelendzhik back in 1900 and it immideately turned it into one of the most popular Russian resorts.
The city nowadays represents a not quite big city with the population of about 70 thousands of people, with the instantly developing tourist infrastructure, appering new hotels, resorts and tourist centers. But even though the city is quite cozy and pretty and has a not so big amount of different tourist kinds of entertainments, it s anyway rather small and in case if you are expecting to spend your time quite active and interesting, you will have to move a lot as all the main sightseeings of Gelendzhik are in general situated not in the city itself, but around all of its nearest surroundings. Besides that, Gelendzhik offers its foreign guests a rather large number of different active kinds of tourist entertainment, including mountain climbing, jeep safari tours and even diving with all the necessary conditions, intended both for professionals and for the very beginners.
