Lapu-Lapu City nowadys represents a quite big city in Philippines with the population of a little bit more than 353 thousands of people and is included in Cebu Province. The city was established for the very first time in 1730 as a small monks settlement and at first it was called Opon. Only back in 1961 Lapu-Lapu City has got the status of the city and since then it has started developing quite fast and has already changed quite a lot.
Lapu-Lapu City is situated in about 575 kilometers away from the capital of Philippines, the city of Manila, on the height of four meters above the sea level. Besides that, the city own its own international airport, which makes traveling to this city quite easy for the foreign travelers and which explains why Lapu-Lapu City is considered nowadays such a popular travel destination of Philippines.
