About Muscat

The city of Muscat nowadays represents the capital of Oman and, at the same time, the largest city in the whole country with the population of about 734,700 people, which is even considered one of the main economical and political centers and the main port of the country. When the city was established for the very first time many centuries ago, it was represented by the tiny settlement, but it has started developing and enlarging quite fast, starting from the XVI-th century.
The city nowadays owns a large port of a rather high significance and even its own international airport, which makes traveling to the capital of Oman quite easy for th foreign travelers and which makes it one of the most popular travel destinations in the whole country. The city in general has a quite large number of ancient historical and architectural sightseeings that are mostly represented by the religious architecture and the local mosques.
