About Antananarivo

Antananarivo or the city of thousands of warriors , as it may be translated from the local language, represents nowadays the capital of Madagascar, situated on the height from 1240 to 1470 meters above the sea level in the valley, straight between to picturesque hills, where tiny houses are spread just all over their territory, forming cozy narrow labyrinths of small streets, terraces, balconies and arches. Besides that, the city of Antananarivo owns its own airport, which makes traveling to Madagascar quite easy and comfortable from the major part of the international cities. Even though the city in general is not quite big, it has a rather large number of gorgeous historical and architectural sightseeings, including the amazingly gorgeous places and temples, large picturesque Botanical Garden and a very large number of natural sightseeings, like lakes and valleys, placed in the nearest city s surroundings, which makes it so much popular among the fans of hiking, eco and agro tourism, nature lovers and even photographers from all over the world.
