About Madaba

The city of Madaba is considered one of the most popular tourist detinations in the whole Jordan, and it is quite frequently called the city of mosaics by the foreign guests and even by the local citizens. The most popular of the local mosaics is represented by the huge Jerusalem map, which was created here in the fourth century (can you even imagine that?).
Th city of Madaba is situated in only about thirty kilometers from the city of Amman and is even connected with the city by the ancient road, which nowadays is considered already more than five thousands years old! As it was said before, the local mosaics represent the main sightseeings and the most significant treasure of the ancient city. But besides that, the city of Madaba is considered a proud owner of the incredibly picturesque city surroundings, represented by the stunning nature views, mountain chains, endless deserts and a quite rich local flora and fauna, whose wild representatives may be easily watched in their natural habitat.
