About Gomishan

The city of Gomishan nowadays represents a small city with the population of only about 16,5 thousands of people, situated in the Northern part of Iran, not far from the Caspian Coast and Southern border with Turkmenistan.
The city in general doesn t have a very large number of different historical or arrchitectural monumnets and sightseeings, but nevertheless is considered a rather popular local tourist destination on the way to another more famous local sightseeings of the country. The city offers its visitors few quite interesting museums, containing the ancient objects, telling the visitors about the history of the city and the country in general, some significant local events and even the lifestyle of the local citizens.
Besides that there are incredibly picturesque surroundings around the city of Gomishan that annually attract hundreds of foreign eco and agro tourism lovers, fans of hiking, photography and different kinds of extreme tourist entertainments, like, for example, camle riding, which is quite popular in the region.
