About Carentan

Carentan nowadays represents a small French city with the population with only about 6000 citizens, which is situated in about 270 kilometers from Paris, the capital of the country, and is considered one of the most ancient cities of France with the long, significant history.
The major part of thr local sightseeings are represented by the old historical and architectural monuments, including the numerous ancient churches of the most varied architectural styles that had been built in Carantan from XVII-th till XVII century. Besides that, the city attracts foreign visitors with the ancient ruins of the gorgeous castle and one of the oldest colleges of the region.
Pont d Ouve is considered another popular local sightseeing, represented by a large fortress, placed straight among the swamps, which many centuries ago was used as a shelter and significant protection for the whole region.
