Tallinn nowadays represents a quite small, but nevertheless historically and culturally rich city, filled with numerous monuments and sightseeings, so it s better to plan your trip to the Estonian capital in advance, in order to manage visit as many of its main sightseeing as it may be even possible and not to miss a thing.
The Old City of Tallinn is a place that deserves the additional attention, as it is the real island of medieval times, placed straight among the high modern hotels and glass buildings. It s possible to walk along it s narrow cozy cobbled streets all day long, admiring the many colored houses and cozy small stores and never getting tired of that. At the entrance to the Old City you may find a large map, where all the main sightseeings and their location are marked.
Even though the unusual atmosphere of the historical center is considered the main sightseeing of the city, foreign visitors from all over the world are attracted to this wonderful city not only by its medieval fortress walls. Baltic coastline is a perfect place for the peaceful, lazy walks along the picturesque sights of Tallinn, and even though that summer in the capital is usually quite short and cool, beaches are quite well developed all over the city.
The main things that everyone should definitely include in their must-do list, while exploring the wonderful city of Tallinn are: walking along all the smallest streets of the historical center, finding the emptiest one and feeling the true atmosphere of the real Middle Ages, visiting the local port late in the evening to watch the large illuminated liners arriving and leaving the city and finding the best observation platform, trying to see Helsinki on the other side.
