About Kaerdla

The Estonian city of Kaerdla nowadays represents the administrative center and one of the largest cities of the country of the region. Kaerdla has got the city status only in 1938, so it s considered a rather young Estonian city. The city also owns a large sea harbor with the picturesque view on the sea and the whole city in general and even has its own airport of the same name.
The population of Kaerdla nowadays counts only about 3,000 of people, but nevertheless it s considered a quite popular tourist destination among the foreign travelers. One of the main sightseeings of the city is situated in its surroundings and is represented by the large crater, which is supposed to be formed by the Kaerdla Meteorite. The crater is situated in South-Western city surroundings and annually attracts hundreds of foreign explorers from all over the world.
Many many centuries ago the city of Kaerdla was represented by the tiny village of Vikings ages, and was described as the modern cty of Kaerdla only in chronicles of 1564.
