About Luxor

Luxor nowadays may be truly considered the real gem of the country. The city of Luxor nowadays represents a small Egyptian city, located in about 500 kilometers from the capital of the country, the city of Cairo. Luxor is considered the world s main archaeological center, as there is no other city in the world, where there would be situated such a large number of historical sightseeings.
As the city of Luxor is situated on the banks of the Nile River, all of its main sightseeings may be divided into the City of the Dead , situated on the left bank and the City of the Living , situated on the right bank of the river. The first one, contain the world-wide known Luxor and Karnak Temples with the large picturesque lake on their territory with the huge granite scarab, towering above the temples surroundings.
Besides that, the famous Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and the Great Temple of Amon Ra, which represents a large two statues of about 20 meters high - are considered another popular sightseeings of Luxor, attracting thousands and thousands of foreign travelers from all over the world every year.
