About Antioquia

Antioquia nowadays represents a department of Colombia, situated in the South-Western part of the country, which also has an outlet to the Caribbean Sea. The city of Medellin is considered the administrative center of the region. Antioquia is considered the sixth largest department of Colombia with about 80% of the whole territory covered by mountains and about half of the region covered by forests.
The region is quite popular among the foreign visitors, due to its picturesque nature, thick green forests, warm climate, large mountain chains, breath-taking views on the surroundings from above and the exciting noises of the wild nature that create the special peaceful atmosphere for all the foreign visitors. Piedra del Pe ol is considered one of the main sightseeings of Antioquia, which represents a separate standing mountain of about 220 meters high, which towers above the city and all of its surroundings and provides the toughest travelers with the stunning observation platform, placed straight on the top.
