About Salvador

The Brazilian city of Salvador nowadays is considered one of the most unusual and attractive local cities from the tourists point of view. There may be still easily felt the spirit of those times when the city of Salvador was considered the capital of the country as the atmosphere of the old colonial Brazil is clearly seen even in the most hidden corners of the city streets.
The city may be generally divided into the upper and the lower Salvador. The upper city or, as the locals call it, Cidade Alta, is first of all represented by the most ancient district of Pelourinho, which had been always considered the main administrative, economical and spiritual center of the city. Besides that, not far from it, there are situated few more squared that are filled with the best examples of the ancient local colonial architecture and historical monuments of the past ages.
Costa Azul Park is considered one of the most popular local places, which represents a large green park with lots of various bars, cafes and restaurants, a large theater for about 600 people and the gorgeous bridge of 35 meters long that is considered a quite popular local sightseeing.
