About Tirana

Tirana is the capital of Albania, which during the past 400 years has developed quite fast and nowadays represents the modern city with the large variety of perfect examples of Turkish, Italian and Soviet architecture, which offers its foreign visitors not only the lots of the historical, archaeological and cultural sightseeings, but also a rather varied night life, good restaurants and some other cultural and active kinds of entertainment.
The most popular tourist sightseeings of Tirana are concentrated in the center of the city. National History Museum with its educational exhibitions about the history of the country, its local customs, culture and traditions, Scanderbeg Square, medieval streets, ancient chapel and the gorgeous mosque are considered the main sightseeings of the Albanian capital.
Besides that, the National Art Gallery is absolutely worth visiting, as every traveler (not only the art fan) will totally stay impressed after walking around the art collections of the XIII-th century. Tirana also offers its visitors numerous green parks and botanical gardens, where it is so pleasant to walk on a hot summer day. The most popular among them is the Grand Park of Tirana and the Dajti Mount, which offers the travelers a breath taking view on the city s surroundings from the height of about 1612 meters.
