THE GREENE TURTLE SPORTS BAR & GRILLE.  Restaurantchains.net is highlighting this chain as "The Fastest Growing Bar & Grill" of the first six months of 2010. They have grown around 20% this year so far with more in construction. Net unit growth continues from their mid-Atlantic epicenter. Location styles are full service, Classic American Bar & Grill.       

Sumter, SC-based SUB STATION II (founded 1975) has increased by 1 unit, from 55 to 56 (2% growth).  These quick serve sandwich shops are open for lunch and dinner, with a $2-$6 per person price range.  Locations have limited seating.  Catering and delivery services are available.  Locations are franchised and trade in the states of GA, KY, NC, SC, TN, and VA.

PIZZA PIZZA based in Toronto, ON (founded 1967) has increased by 22 units for the Pizza Pizza concept, from 568 to 590 (4% concept growth) and by 12 units for their Pizza 73 concept, from 69 to 81 (17% growth).  Overall company growth is from 637 to 671 (5% company growth).  These are quick serve restaurants with seating for around 40.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $2-$6.  Catering is available.  Locations are more than 80% franchised and are in AB, BC, ON, PQ and SK.

Louisville, KY-based HOME RUN BURGERS (founded 2008) has increased by 1 unit, from 2 to 3 (50% growth).  This quick serve burger concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $3-$8 per person check average.  Beer is served.  Seating is for about 40.  Delivery is available.  All units are in KY. 

ORANGE LEAF FROZEN YOGURT based in Hayward, CA has increased by 6 units, from 22 to 28 (27% growth).  These are quick serve ice cream/yogurt shops with limited seating.  Per person check average is around $2-$6.  Locations are in AR, AZ, CA, FL, HI, KS, NC, NJ, NY, OK, OR, TX, UT and WA.

BILL MILLER BAR-B-Q based in San Antonio, TX (founded 1953) has increased by 1 unit, from 67 to 68 (1% growth).  These are family/casual BBQ restaurants with seating for around 150.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served.  Per person check average is around $6-$12.  Drive-thru and catering services are available.  All locations are in TX.

North Carolina-based MIDTOWN SUNDRIES RESTAURANT & BAR (founded 1991) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth), entering into PA.  These are family/casual restaurants, serving American cuisine.  Locations have a full bar and seating for about 250.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a per person check average of $6-$15+.  The restaurants are in FL, NC, and PA.

PF CHANG'S CHINA BISTRO based in Scottsdale, AZ (founded 1993) has increased by 3 units for Pei Wei Asian Diner, from 164 to 167 (2% growth) and by 5 units for PF Chang's, from 192 to 197 (3% growth).  Overall company increase is from 356 to 364 (2% company growth).  These are family/casual Chinese restaurants with full bar and seating for around 250.  Lunch and dinner are served.  The check average is around $10-$30 per person.  Banquet services are available.  Locations are in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA and WI.

Columbia, SC-based GROUCHO'S DELI (founded 1941) has increased by 2 units, from 18 to 20 (11% growth).  This is a family/casual sandwich restaurant, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $4-$10, serving beer and wine.  Seating is for about 125.  Catering and delivery are available.  Units are in NC and SC.

Ridgeland, MS-based MCALISTER'S DELI (founded 1989) has increased by 3 units, from 291 to 294 (1% growth).  The restaurants are fast casual, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $4-$10 and seating is for about 150.  Catering and online ordering are available.  Units are franchised and located in AL, AR, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, NC, NM, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WY.  We featured this concept on 7/14/09 (3% growth) and on 10/27/09 (2% growth).  

Vancouver, BC-based FRESHSLICE PIZZA (founded 1999) has increased by 3 units, from 24 to 27 (13% growth).  These take-out/delivery pizza restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.  Units have limited seating and offer online ordering.  All locations are in BC.  We wrote about this concept on 3/10/09 (45% growth), 8/25/09 (25% growth) and on 2/2/10 (20% growth).

RITA'S ITALIAN ICE of Trevose, PA (founded 1984) has increased by 16 units, from 558 to 574 (3% growth).  These are mostly take-out ice cream shops with limited seating.  Locations are open during lunch and dinner hours.  Per person check average is around $2-$6.  Catering is available.  Locations are in  CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, MA, MD, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA and WV.  We last reported on this concept on 9/1/09 (4% growth).

Ste-Therese, PQ-based CHEZ CORA (founded 1987) has increased by 2 units, from 113 to 115 (2% growth).  These are family/casual breakfast and lunch restaurants, with a $6-$12 per person check average.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 125.  Locations are franchised and trade in AB, MB, NB, NL, NS, ON, PE, and PQ.  We wrote about this company on 1/12/10 (3% growth).
