SWISS Announces New Zurich-Lyon Service

Customers of the Switzerland's national airline can soon enjoy non-stop connections between two cities

The new service of four daily frequencies will be introduced with the start of the 2009 summer timetable on March 29th, and will be operated using Avro RJ100 equipment.

The new route further enhances the SWISS service product to and from France. Lyon joins Paris and Nice to become SWISS' third destination in France. The new flights will also offer customers from the Lyon area convenient connections via Zurich to other SWISS European and intercontinental destinations.

Located in the heart of the attractive Rhone-Alpes region, Lyon is France's second-biggest business center, and is home to the branch operations of various Swiss companies. With its many cultural attractions, appealing location and fine culinary fare, the city also attracts a large number of tourists.

With the addition of Lyon, SWISS will serve 77 worldwide destinations in its 2009 summer timetable, 47 of them in Europe. From North America, SWISS offers service from Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Montreal, Miami, New York's JFK and Newark.
