National Restaurant Association and Nation's Restaurant News Announce Strategic Media Partnership

The National Restaurant Association (NRA) and Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) today unveiled a strategic, multi-year partnership to serve the ever-growing and wide-ranging demand among foodservice operators and suppliers for business news, research, and insight.

The agreement is the most comprehensive ever between the restaurant industry’s leading information providers. The partnership will capitalize on each organization’s deep knowledge of restaurant people, products, and practices to create new media products and services for industry professionals.

The announcement was made jointly by NRN Publisher Randall Friedman and NRA President and CEO Dawn Sweeney, who last month unveiled their intentions at the start of the NRA Show in Chicago.

“I’m very pleased to announce this significant new partnership with Nation’s Restaurant News, one of the nation’s leading media sources,” Sweeney said. “Together, we’ll be able to reach hundreds of thousands of additional industry professionals to tell them the NRA story and the benefits of membership.”

In the short term during the next six to 12 months, the partners will create and distribute new NRA-branded print and online information materials, including a new “NRA Edition” of NRN’s widely readNRN a.m. e-newsletter – geared toward NRA members and prospective members - and a monthly “NRA Insights” page in Nation’s Restaurant News magazine. NRN will also offer discounted magazine subscription rates to NRA members. NRN is the only paid circulation magazine in the foodservice industry.

In the longer term, the partners said they look forward to developing new ideas and opportunities to engage, inform, and inspire the industry.

NRN is proud to formalize our long-standing relationship with the NRA and strengthen our ability to serve its members,” Friedman said. “This partnership will introduce NRN to new audiences and strengthen our long-standing position as the number one source of business intelligence for the foodservice industry.”
