Stephane C. Masson to Lead Marriott's Global Procurement Team

Twenty-year hospitality veteran Stephane C. Masson has been named vice president, global procurement for Marriott International, Inc.
$2.3 Billion Spent with Diverse Suppliers Since 2005

He will lead a team to manage and deploy, scalable and environmentally responsible procurement initiatives around the world, increase synergies between domestic and international contracts, and advance global supplier diversity.

Marriott has a goal to spend 15 percent with minority-, veteran-, LGBT-, and woman-owned businesses. In the past five years, Marriott spent $2.3 billion with diverse suppliers in the U.S. and 14.8 percent ($372 million) last year alone.  

"Stephane brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position," said John Adams, senior vice president, Global Operations Services, Marriott International, Inc. "We're confident that he will mirror his international procurement success globally."

Stephane is expanding his most recent responsibilities as vice president of international procurement where he successfully managed supplier initiatives in the United Kingdom, Dubai, China, Australia and Germany to include Marriott's global portfolio that spans 70 countries and territories.

Stephane joined Marriott as a part of the Renaissance hotels acquisition in 1997. His early success included establishing the purchasing department for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was later named regional director of Procurement for Continental Europe, overseeing procurement operations to drive revenue from contract programs and provide services and savings to regional teams and owners.

The Ivory-Coast born Frenchman holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Hotel Business Management degree from the from the High School of Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole and Hotel School of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in Paris, France. He currently resides just outside of Frankfurt, Germany, and will relocate to Marriott International's headquarters in Bethesda, Md., within the coming year.

Marriott has an ongoing commitment to global diversity and inclusion. Marriott has a board-level committee, the Committee for Excellence, which meets regularly to set goals and monitor the company's progress. Marriott has been recognized for its supplier diversity efforts by DiversityInc magazine, named Top 50 Companies for Supplier Diversity by Hispanic Trends magazine and among the Top 20 Corporations for Supplier Diversity by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
