Queen of the West Ready for Its First Season with American Cruise Lines

American Cruise Lines is pleased to announce upgrades to the newly acquired Queen of the West are well underway and the company is anticipating a very successful first season in the Pacific Northwest.

Along with converting 17 staterooms to private balcony rooms and a brand new library lounge on the third deck, American Cruise Lines is focusing on passenger comfort by upgrading the existing lounges and dining room with new furniture and other amenities.

"We want to create a warm and inviting environment in the lounges where our guests can relax, spend time with new friends, or just curl up with a good book," said Timothy Beebe, Vice President of American Cruise Lines. "The atmosphere will reflect the theme and spirit of American Cruise Lines, which has already proven very popular with our passengers."

With the creation of one way itineraries between Portland, Oregon and Clarkston, Washington, passengers will have more underway time during the day to relax and enjoy the incredible scenery along the route, including the spectacular Columbia River Gorge. With this more relaxed cruising schedule, American Cruise Lines also plans to improve the quality of shore excursions and bring onboard a variety of local talent from historians to entertainers.

The 2010 season begins on August 7, with weekly departures from Portland or Clarkston, through October. With many of the 2010 season cruises either sold out, or close to selling out, the 2011 bookings are already becoming very popular, with a longer season running from April through November.
