The HoneyBaked Ham Company of GA Announces New Role for Executive

Maggie DeCan Promoted to Senior Vice President of Store Operations

The HoneyBaked Ham Company of Georgia announced the promotion of Maggie DeCan to the role of Senior Vice President of Store Operations. In her new role DeCan, an 8-year employee of HoneyBaked, will have full responsibility for store performance, market presence and leading corporate culture in HoneyBaked Ham’s 301 company-owned & franchise stores. She will continue her responsibilities over the Human Resource, IT and Real Estate functions.

“As a member of the Leadership Team, she has always pushed on business decisions and provided great strategic insight.”

“In her 8 years with HoneyBaked, Maggie added value far beyond her Executive Level Human Resources role. She has a passion for our business and our customers. She is relentless in pursuing creative ways to bring huge improvement to our results in every area and is not satisfied with incremental change,” said Chuck Bengochea, HoneyBaked Ham’s Chief Executive Officer. “As a member of the Leadership Team, she has always pushed on business decisions and provided great strategic insight.”

A University of Michigan graduate, DeCan started her career in retail operations with Macy’s and Belk department stores. She went on to Circuit City where she became Director of Human Resources and a member of the executive leadership team for the $4 billion Southern Division. Joining HoneyBaked in 2002, DeCan has served as Vice President of Support Services and Chief People Office.

According to DeCan, “In this rapidly evolving market place where competition and changing consumer needs combine, we need to be more focused and forward-looking than ever before. Our ability to serve our customers by supporting each franchisee and associate in every HoneyBaked store, while building on our unique corporate culture will be crucial to our growth. We are proud to participate at important meals with millions of American families each year. I am excited to grow around that solid foundation and important tradition.”

DeCan’s leadership extends to her significant volunteer work. The State PTA of Georgia honored her this year with its prestigious Visionary Leadership Award for leading community-wide efforts to engage parents during school redistricting. She now serves as President of the Roswell North Elementary Educational Foundation that she helped to form in 2009. She is past president of the Woodstock, Georgia Junior Service League. DeCan is an active member of Georgia State University’s Human Resource Executive Roundtable and the Women’s Foodservice Forum, an organization committed to the development of future female business leaders.
