Cheap Island Air Flights (WP)

Island Air is a regional, independent carrier founded in 1980 as Princeville Airways by Colorado-based Consolidated Oil and Gas, which began operating with cheap flights between Honolulu and Princeville, Hawaii, USA.

The nowadays air company has passed through many changes to become the best airline in Hawaii and keeps offering low-budget flights between the islands of Oahu with its Honolulu International Airport (HNL), Maui with Kahului Airport (OGG) and West Maui’s Kapalua Airport (JHM), Molokai with its Molokai Airport (MKK), Lanai with Lanai City Airport (LNY), Kauai with Lihue Airport (LIH), and the Island of Hawaii with Kona International Airport (KOA).

The airline’s past is rich. Thus, it began in May 1987, after the company had been renamed to Aloha Island Air by the same company that founded it. It became now a part of Aloha Air Group. Aloha Island Air served the airline’s name for only five years. In 1992, the company applied to register Island Air as its trade name, giving it a distinct identity. Later, newly renamed airline was granted certification by the Federal Aviation Administration to operate larger aircraft to serve the burgeoning commuter market in Hawaii. This way, Island Air started to grow on the Hawaiian market.

On May 11, 2004 Aloha Island Air was acquired from its parent company by the Gavarnie Holding, LLC. This purchase made Island Air Hawaii’s third largest independent airline. By that time, the company was renamed Hawaii Island Air, Inc., although the airline continued to do business as Island Air.

The next seven years served the airline to its extending, opening new affordable routes to small community destinations on other islands. At the present time, Island Air is serving airports on all major Hawaiian Islands, operating with a fleet of 37-seat Dash 8 turboprop aircraft, providing not as much cheap flights as its range of low-cost tickets for every scheduled best-priced flight for all Hawaiian people and not only for them.

The airline is based in Honolulu CDP, city and county of Honolulu Hawaii with a hub at Kahului Airport on Maui. Island Air (officially as Hawaii Island Air, Inc) operates cheap flights to 8 inter-island destinations with the lowest airfares, furnishing the company’s best airline deals.

The airline operates also its own frequent flyer program, Cloud 9, which is the travel rewards program of Island Air. The program's airline partners also include Hawaiian Airlines and Star Alliance members Continental Airlines and United Airlines.
