Cheap Flights → Cheap Airlines → Bangkok Airways Flights

Cheap Bangkok Airways Flights (PG)

Overview

Bangkok Airways is a Thai regional airline based in Bangkok. Since its foundation in 1968 as Sahakol Air, Bangkok Airways works with low airfares and operates cheap flights. The citizen and the tourists totally rely on the company’s offers, knowing that flying with cheap and low-cost tickets, their level of trust and safety will grow, following the lived experience.

The airline’s official establishment as Bangkok Airways was in 1986, as the country’s first privately-owned domestic airline.

Since then, the air transportation field in this territory continues evolving as a result of the tourism growth, so Bangkok Airways assumed great responsibility in order to satisfy daily tourists’ wishes and in the same time by offering cheap flights to 17 different exotic destinations in Thailand, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Laos, Maldives, Burma, India, and Singapore.

Bangkok Airways has also invested in building and maintaining three own privately-operated airports. Among them is Ko Samui Airport (USM) at Samui island. The airport was opened in April 1989. In our days Ko Samui Airport offers direct and cheap flights between the island and Hong Kong, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Pattaya, and Singapore.

The second Bangkok Airways’s airport was opened in Sukhothai Province. Sukhothai Airport (THS) has started its work in 1996. The third company’s airport was built in Trat Province in March 2003. Trat Airport (TDX) serves the burgeoning tourism destination of Ko Chang.

All these developments provide Thailand with more air transportation hubs in order to facilitate increasing air traffic volume.

Bangkok Airways is currently an official sponsor of Lampang Football Club, considering the corporative community responsibility they develop.

The company is owned by Dr. Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth (92.31%), Sahakol Estate (4.3%), Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (1.2%) and other shareholders (2.19%). It has 1,903 employees and also wholly owns subsidiary airline Siem Reap Airways.

Initially, the airline provided charter services by means of its first operational aircraft, "Trade Wind", a two-engine 9-seater plane. Regular charter assignments came from the OICC (an American construction company), USOM, and a number of other organizations, which at the time, were engaging in oil and natural gas exploration in the Gulf of Thailand.

Bangkok Airways has a Flyer Bonus as its frequent flyer program. With its fleet size of 18 aircraft (each one decorated in different liveries of various exotic destinations), the airline can afford to reconsider its airfares, offering its “all-over the world” travelers a range of special best airline deals, including the lowest airfares for cheap flights or providing low-cost tickets.
