Five general types of travelers

A real private guide has to be a rather good psychologist at the same time, as each traveler has his own individual wishes, opinions and expectations about the tour they are going to visit.

By their preferences all the travelers from all over the world may be divided into 5 general groups:

  • Intellectuals – the more details your speech will have, the better it will be. They want to learn about everything: who and when had built that sightseeing, why, what is that area so famous for, who had lived there and so on. You should mention as much dates and names as possible, but you should better be well prepared in advance, as your travelers may check the information they’re getting online or may be also well educated in that topic.
  • Photographers – they can’t imagine the trip without taking a photo or video camera on it, as all those beautiful landscapes, historical sightseeings and architectural monuments have to be photographed! As a rule, they don’t need all these long speeches and, of course, don’t need lots of details, the only thing they would be grateful for will be the long pauses between the sights for taking good original photos.
  • Collectors – they want to visit and/or check-in at as many places as it is possible. Most likely, they won’t ask you for the monotonous speech or for telling them lots of details, as a rule, the object’s name and a short interesting fact about it is usually enough.
  • Gourmets – this type knows a lot about the advantages of gastronomic tours, so they usually get acquainted to the country with the help of the local cuisine, traditional beverages, some local culinary customs and so on. So if you show them few good or even unique local bars and restaurants – you will conquer their hearts.
  • “Atmosphere lovers” – this type of travelers are longing not only to visit the sightseeing, but also to get inspired by the atmosphere of the ancient times, to feel those era and so on. They usually appreciate visiting the old ruins, castles with ghosts, oriental markets or ancestral mansions. Forget about boring facts - it would be great to prepare some legends, mysterious stories and touching novels for this group.
