OpenSkies Celebrates Its Second Anniversary

With two direct routes already established and another opening in late 2010, the company reasserts its ambition to become a key player in the Business Class sector

OpenSkies, the unique all business airline operating transatlantic flights, is pleased to celebrate its second anniversary. Launched on June 19, 2008 following the Open Skies agreement signed on March 30, 2008, OpenSkies, a subsidiary of British Airways, now operates two flights daily between Paris (Orly) and New York (Newark), in addition to five weekly flights between Paris (Orly) and Washington (Dulles).

Between June 2008 and May 2010, OpenSkies has flown more than 155,000 passengers between Paris and New York, resulting in a 29 percent market share. Further, summer operation of the direct line between Paris and Washington, recently launched on May 3, 2010, is in line with the initial estimations predicted by the company.

OpenSkies, which is today the unique all business operator in the market worldwide, has struck the right mix of product, service and price, making the airline a viable and popular alternative for passengers looking for innovation, comfort and exclusivity. The results of a recent study* conducted by the company speak for themselves: 97 percent of OpenSkies' passengers would recommend OpenSkies to their friends.

These menus offer an array of inspired dishes from the latest fashions of French and American cuisine. The positive results achieved to date have enabled the company to plan for future expansion.  OpenSkies is currently considering 20 key business destinations to launch its third route, which is anticipated to take place later this summer.
