Eventi, A Kimpton Hotel, Celebrates Official Opening in New York's North Chelsea Neighborhood

Eventi, A Kimpton Hotel, celebrated its official opening today with a special dedication ceremony. The event paid tribute to the hotel's North Chelsea neighborhood, with a public Flower Market outside the property that brought together some of the most talented florists from New York's famous Flower Market district.

Homage to the neighborhood continued on Eventi's magnificent fifth floor outdoor terrace space, with dedication performances including a ceremonial blessing from a Korean Buddhist nun of the Manhattan Chogyesa Temple and a traditional hour glass dance by children of the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Association.  Eventi's opening represents a milestone for Kimpton, as it is the company's 50th hotel and fourth completely unique hotel in New York City.

Thomas Mathes, general manager of Eventi, served as the event's master of ceremonies and introduced an impressive roster of speakers including New York City's Deputy Mayor Bob Lieber; Kimpton President and CEO Mike Depatie and Kimpton Chief Operating Office Niki Leondakis.  Broadway star Bebe Neuwirth, who is currently performing in "The Addams Family", was also on hand to show her appreciation for the hotel's LIVE story and the neighborhood's vibrant energy.

"We are thrilled to bring Eventi to life today and excited that we could involve so many neighborhood and New York City partners in our opening festivities," says Thomas Mathes, general manager of Eventi.  "Eventi brings a new personality to the New York hotel scene and North Chelsea.  Our guests can look forward to experiencing pleasant surprises complimented with distinctive Kimpton service as cornerstones of the Eventi livestyle."

The event continued with a ceremonial cutting of an intricate floral garland.  Guests were then invited on guided hotel tours, which showcased a video installation from artist Jennifer Steinkamp in the hotel's Veranda suite, along with looks at the hotel's guest rooms and suites which showcased some of Kimpton's signature programs and amenities including a pet-friendly room. The hotel's fifth floor, which includes a state-of-the-art screening room, spacious Eventi suite, spa and fitness center was open for guests to explore while they sipped floral infused cocktails and enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres.

Eventi was designed for today's forward-looking traveler, offering both business and leisure guests an intriguing experience in bold public spaces and artfully designed accommodations.   It is a place that feels alive: its heart beat pulses with creativity and sends energy to every corner of the hotel.  Upon first entering the hotel, guests begin a sensory journey of discovery and pleasant surprises.
