AirTran Airways Reports May Traffic

For May, traffic grew by 8.4 percent to more than 1.67 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and the airline enplaned over 2.1 million passengers, a 6.6 percent increase over May 2009.

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today reported traffic for the month of May. The airline's load factor, 80.8 percent, represents a new all-time company record for the month of May.  

 Year-to-date, the airline has enplaned 9.7 million passengers – a 4.3 percent increase over last year.
