Calgary, AB-based COCO BROOKS PIZZA (founded 1999) has increased by 1 unit, from 2 to 3 (50% growth).  These are quick serve pizzerias, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Delivery is available.  Stores have limited seating.  All locations are in AB.  Franchising is available.
MULLIGAN'S GRILL & RAW BAR based in Jensen Beach, FL (founded 1998) has increased by 1 unit, from 2 to 3 (50% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 150.  Locations are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Catering and banquets are offered.  Per person check average is around $10-$30.  All locations are in FL.

Toronto, ON-based FRESHII (founded 2005) has increased by 5 units, from 14 to 19 (36% growth) and entered into CO and DC.  Other trading areas are IL and ON.  This is a fast casual salad and sandwich concept, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.  Per person check average is $3-$8.  Units seat about 50.  Catering, delivery and online ordering are available.  Between 50% and 60% of the stores are franchised.  The company has multiple locations planning to open this spring and summer.

Emeryville, CA-based JAMBA JUICE (NASDAQ: JMBA; founded 1990) has increased by 8 units, from 735 to 743 (1% growth).  These are quick serve juice/smoothie cafes, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person price range is $2-$6, with catering service offered.  Limited seating is available.  Between 30% and 40% of units are franchised.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, ID, IL, IN, MA, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, TX, UT, WA, WI, and the Bahamas.  We last featured this company on 9/15/09 (1% growth).

NEW ENGLAND HOT DOG COMPANY of Beverly, MA (founded 2004) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  These are quick serve restaurants with seating for around 30.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Catering is available.  Per person check average is around $3-$8.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in MA and NJ.  We reported on this concept on 6/23/09 when they had 33% growth. 

Los Angeles, CA-based PINKBERRY (founded 2005) has increased by 4 units, from 78 to 82 (5% growth) and entered into LA.  These are quick serve frozen yogurt shops, open for lunch and dinner hours.  Per person price range is $3-$8.  Limited seating is available.  Catering and online ordering services are offered.  Delivery is available at select locations.  Trading areas are CA, LA, NY, TX, UAE, and Kuwait.  We wrote about this concept on 2/24/09 (4% growth) and on 12/8/09 (8% growth).  The company also ranked #18 on our May 2009 Top 20 Fastest Growing Concepts list. 

Vista, CA-based ALBERTO'S MEXICAN FOOD (founded 1975) has increased by 4 units, from 68 to 72 (6% growth).  These are fast casual restaurants, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $3-$8.  Seating is for about 100.  Trading areas are CA and UT.  We featured this company on 1/26/10 (6% growth).
