Cheap LAN Flights (LA)

Overview

LAN is the Latin American airline alliance that includes oneworld member LAN Airlines and its affiliates. On 1 April 2007, LAN Argentina and LAN Ecuador joined the other airlines in the LAN alliance as members of oneworld: LAN Express, which operates domestic services with Chile, and LAN Peru.

LAN Airlines (formerly LanChile), which joined the alliance in June 2000, is widely regarded as Latin America's leading airline. It is one of the region's largest carriers, with a growing reputation for excellent customer service.

The group relaunched itself as the LAN alliance in March 2004, reflecting the carriers' strategy of establishing themselves collectively as the best airline serving Latin America and one of the best in the world, with world class products backed by operations to the highest international standards of safety, security and efficiency and delivered with "the warmth and friendliness of Latin America's people" on all routes they independently serve.

All participating LAN alliance carriers offer a common level of service on the ground and in the air, "ensuring that their passengers enjoy a travel experience that is unique, with every detail specially developed to provide excellence and with the same level of safety, attention and efficiency no matter with which of the participating airlines they fly".

In November 2007 the LAN alliance carriers launched LAN Business Express Class for flights between Lima and Quito, Bogotá, Caracas and Santiago. LAN is the first airline in the region to provide this new service, modelled on the concept that when travelling short distances, the thing that business travellers value most highly is their time. The carriers plan to extend the service to the rest of the short-haul flights operated in South America during 2008.

LAN serves around 65 destinations in some 20 countries, mostly in Latin America, but with some routes to Australasia, Europe and the USA, with hubs at Santiago de Chile, Lima, Buenos Aires, Quito and Guayaquil.
